There are moments in life when the path ahead isn’t revealed all at once. Instead, a single ray of light finds its way through the forest, gently inviting us forward.
Rising Into the Light was inspired by those moments of quiet transformation. Standing beneath these towering evergreens, I was struck by the way the light illuminated one magnificent tree while the surrounding forest remained wrapped in shadow. It felt like nature was reminding me that growth doesn’t always happen in the brightest places. Often, it begins in stillness, rooted deeply before reaching upward.
The flowing forms of the trees reflect the unseen energy that moves through all living things; the gentle rhythm of breath, wind, and life itself. The winding path and scattered granite stones speak to the obstacles and experiences that shape us, while the glowing light beyond encourages us to keep moving with trust and curiosity.
For me, this painting is about remembering that the light has always been there. Sometimes all we need to do is look up, stay present, and continue the journey.
