All along the coast of Cardiff, below the high sandstone bluffs, and away from the noise of Highway 101, lies a little piece of paradise. It’s a place where you can always find an escape from the hustle of So Cal life.
So long as the tide cooperates, Cardiff is a great beach to walk along, with picturesque views of Swami's to the north and La Jolla to the south. Great waves, many breaks to choose from and perfectly secluded from Highway 101 by the high bluffs.
I don't often paint with pinks, but for some reason this series was begging for the pink color palette to be included. It just felt right. I love the energy and harmony that the pinks and purples give this painting, especially against the rich greens. I painted it in my newer style, which is evolving and becoming freer and looser, and focuses on the movement of brush strokes in relation to one another.
