Original Oil on Canvas 24" x 24"
When I first began to find my style, I painted plein-aire (outside) around my hometown of San Diego. I was still experimenting with line, distortion of objects, and interpreting the scene in front of me to the point of it being abstract, but still recognizable. This painting is one of those few, and inspired by the old Olivenhain town meeting hall built in the 1800s (which wasn't far from my house). I remember going here every Halloween as a kid, bobbing for apples in a wooden barrel, playing games, and of course snacking on the candy. Painted in 2000-2001.
