This painting is inspired by the iconic Southern California fan palm. Sometimes they are tall, sometimes short , sometimes skinny and sometimes with a mass of dry furry fronds hanging around their tops like a skirt. They are icons of Southern California. This lone California fan palm rises tall against a setting sun, complemented with vibrant pinks, radiating purples, cooling blues, sunburst oranges and radiating yellows vibrantly illuminating the sky. Colors I so fondly remember from my 80's youth.
