Patterns of light on the water are one of my favorite subjects to paint. They are mesmerizing, transporting, visually intoxicating…like god’s paintbrush is creating art right before my eyes. I find myself staringendlessly at the liquid surface, I feel as though I am dreaming, floating between two worlds. It is hard to contain the excitement and inspirationI feel in the moment, I feel it through my whole body…and I am left wondering, “How can this be real?” The patterns and light are never the same, from moment to moment, a multitude of undulating motions ranging in size from a tiny particle to a full tidal wave, these ripples and movements influence one another, creating patterns of light in each moment that will never again be the same. Each moment is a snapshotof time manifested on this incredible medium called water. For me, it’s like coming home, a chance to recharge, to reconnect, and to fill my soul.
