An incredible golden sunset illuminates the coastline of Pacific Beach in San Diego. There is nothing quite like the light here... bright golden rays of light on everything it touches. The edges of the wood pilings underneath the pier shine gold, while their shadows radiate cool blues reflected from the dwindling light. The beams criss-crossed here and there, attaching to each other for support, in an almost hap-hazard fashion. Sunlight and shadows dance together, ever-moving with the falling sunlight. The waves rush in, crashing against the pilings, then recede leaving sparkles of gold in the water to shine, until the next surge of waves roll in. I feel as though I can escape into this painting forever, playing with the tide, watching the sun forever set. This painting wouldn't be here if it wasn't for a wonderful family in San Diego who commissioned it to remind themselves of all the wonderful times they have had at Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. The original oil painting now hangs in their living room where they get to enjoy it everyday. Super stoked to be a part of this co-collaboration!!
