As you probably know, I like to paint water, specifically the patterns and shapes in the water. On this particular day a friend and I were kayaking in Catalina, and the water took on a silvery metallic look. The vertical lines from the sailboat masts meandered through the inky black reflections. They were mesmerizing, we both sat transfixed by the hypnotic dance of light and water.
