Waves of Light ebb and flow, rise and fall, appear on the surface of the water then fade away. Streaks of golden light and patterns of shadows. Brilliant hues of colors appear for a short while, changing with time as the sun slowly descends in the sky.
The streaks of golden luminosity that cut through the shadows remind me of the ever-changing nature of life. In any moment we can experience joy, or pain, or apathy, or compassion, a myriad of thoughts and feelings, informing the experience of life. We are both, the pleasure and the pain. Water helps to remind me of this natural state of being, this constant change of ebb and flow. And the light reminds me of my place, my dharma, my path, within it all.
