Original Oil on canvas 24" x 15." Gallery Wrapped (painted around the sides). Ready to hang.
Here’s a small plein-air painting I painted one day of the cliff line above La Jolla caves. The marine layer created an overcast day, muting the landscape, so I exaggerated the colors to bring some energy to the scene. It’s not exactly what I was going for, but it was a fun day nonetheless, and sometimes unexpected forms can appear where they weren't intended. I love this about the creative process, especially those in-the-moment on-site sessions. Seals were playing, seagulls were cawing, and people were exploring the water. It was awesome to paint in such a beautiful location.
